President Trump Gets Trolled On State Dept Website, Fingers Point To Angry Employee

Well, folks, it seems Twitter, Congress, and some karmically-inclined universal forces aren't the only ones absolutely trolling soon-to-be-ex-President Donald Trump. Earlier today, The United States' State Department website experienced a "glitch" (or an intentional jab from a "disgruntled employee"), incorrectly reading that Donnie's time in office "ended" at 7:40 p.m. ET on Monday, January 11, CNET reported.

Facing both a second impeachment vote and calls for Vice President Mike Pence to enact the 25th amendment, several Twitter users rejoiced at the initial report, speculating it was the end of Donnie's quadrennial reign of terror, yet soon after, several sources reported that such was not the case, leaving many with a conspicuously blank space on their newly-minted, already half-full 2021 Bingo cards.

While. some say this was the result of a technical glitch, as a similar error occurred back in December, it seems there may have been some mischief afoot. According. to BuzzFeed News, the message was the result of a "disgruntled employee," with an investigation reportedly underway, beginning with interns and employees leaving the State Department next week when Joe Biden is inaugurated as our nation's 46th president. Didn't anyone tell Becky that altering a government website doesn't earn you extra class credits for your semester away in D.C.? SMH.

As of writing, the page has been taken down, to the likely relief of POTUS, who was probably already prepping a Twitter rant on his not-banned government account about unfair it is that he's having the 25th Amendment pulled on him after inciting a deadly attack on our nation's Capitol.

Ugh. We only (have a maximum of) nine more days with Trump in office. We can get through this.
